I would mention/show this somewhere in RUI, since this is quit a confidence boost in the project. My understanding is that you write RUI so that you can use it in Audulus. IIUC you are the author of which looks quite impressive.

  • What’s the best crate for gui development? Audulus Demo - Custom Step Sequencer Demo - YouTube I made an improved version of the standard step sequencer that comes with Audulus, it includes controls for start, stop, swing and step and.
  • Then I wrote a couple apps ( mostly custom, mostly SwiftUI, ongoing of course). First I did UI work with Qt at Pixar on the animation tools. Will this legislation force Apple to let me JIT? Would be great for performance. I have a modular synthesizer app for iOS.

And it's free for most of the systems, except the Android and iOS. It is a tool for those people who like to compose music wherever they are, whenever they wish. SunVox is a small, fast and powerful modular synthesizer with pattern-based sequencer (tracker). The first two have got desktop versions, so that makes it much easier to refine them when you're back at your computer. I really just use them to do music while on a train journey when I don't want to kill my laptop battery. I have Sunvox, Caustic 3, and FakeSID on my phone. Late reply, but I would like to recommend SunVox as usual. A good portion of the cost of this device could be justified only if it really had motorized knobs and faders, which are shown in the video but not mentioned among the features that would be a completely unnecessary gimmick (in such a device). No need to try as it already exists: Any Linux tablet with Reaper and a couple soft synths and a decent external sound card if needed would do a lot more for a lot less. Hell, throw Night Radio a few bucks even if you get it for free.

Compared to like, a full blown DAW like Live 11 or something it's not perfect (is Live 11 even perfect?), but for my preference, there are overwhelmingly more positives than there are negatives. Drambo strikes again. So I'm just gushing because this app has eaten my life lately and that's okay. Ok now let's.OMG IT'S 4:30 AM AND I HAVE TO BE UP AT 7:00. Ooh I said "maybe", so yeah let's put a Random Condition after the Cycle Condition, but in front of the Jump.so now on every 2 second pass of my sequence a track will have a different length 75% of the time (40%? 17%?.whatever sounds fun). Let's also transpose the root up an octave every once in a while because inversions can be fun. Hmm should we now stick a Random Condition in front of that transpose? Sure why not.Īnd perhaps this chord I have on this track over here might sound better spread out over time, so let's add some Cycle Conditions in front of each note component so they all play on different passes of the sequence, like an arpeggiator. Yeah every 3rd pass we want that note on step 5 to be a fifth up. Ok now on some steps let's put a Cycle Condition in front of a Transpose component. Ooh I said "maybe", so yeah let's put a Random Condition after the Cycle Condition, but in front of the Jump.so now on every second pass of my sequence a track will have a different length 75% of the time (40%? 17%?.whatever sounds fun). Cool yeah track 1 will always be 16 steps, but track 2 will be 13 steps on one pass and 9 steps on the second pass. Hmm now I can stick a Cycle Condition in front of the Jump, so that maybe every 2nd pass of my sequence a track will have a different length. Ok, neat.polyrhythms (polymeter? I always get them confused). Maybe track 1 is 16 steps, track 2 is 13 steps, etc. This means each track in your sequence can be a different length. The "Jump" component when set to 1 is essentially like "Last Step" on Roland x0x boxes. Here's an example of how I might build something up: It may not be entirely generative in the "I pressed play and drifted away" sense of the word.but it generates ideas and happy accidents in a way I've seldom encountered. I'm loving Drambo for this kind of stuff, and so far (for me) it's all about using the Step Components in the sequencer. I like to get a great sequence going then I will record it to Xequence and then I have a nice timeline to see and adjust. I guess I need to lock myself away from the family and try to learn some of it.

I open up Drambo and just stare at it for hours. In the video below, Mark Boyd of Audulus gives a demo of the the software synth, and also uses the Expert Sleepers ES-8 to connect the iPad with a Eurorack.

For those saying Drambo, can you suggest how to get generative sequences out of it? I assume not using the sequencer itself, but I'm not sure which modules could create generative triggers (and can you quantize the pitch?)
